چکیده

Implications of field quantization on Ramsey interferometry are discussed and general conditions for the occurrence of interference are obtained. Interferences do not occur if the fields in two Ramsey zones have precise number of photons. However in this case we show how two atom (like two photon) interferometry can be used to discern a variety of interference effects as the two independent Ramsey zones get entangled by the passage of first atom. Single Atom and Two Atom Ramsey Interferometry with Quantized Fields

Implications of field quantization on Ramsey interferometry are discussed and general conditions for the occurrence of interference are obtained. Interferences do not occur if the fields in two Ramsey zones have precise number of photons. However in this case it is shown how an analog of Hanbury-Brown Twiss photon-photon correlation interferometry can be used to discern a variety of interferenc...

Scalar Aharonov–Bohm Phase in Ramsey Atom Interferometry under Time-Varying Potential

In a Ramsey atom interferometer excited by two electromagnetic fields, if atoms are under a time-varying scalar potential during the interrogation time, the phase of the Ramsey fringes shifts owing to the scalar Aharonov–Bohm effect. The phase shift was precisely examined using a Ramsey atom interferometer with a two-photon Raman transition under the second-order Zeeman potential, and a formula...

Probing real-space and time-resolved correlation functions with many-body Ramsey interferometry.

We propose to use Ramsey interferometry and single-site addressability, available in synthetic matter such as cold atoms or trapped ions, to measure real-space and time-resolved spin correlation functions. These correlation functions directly probe the excitations of the system, which makes it possible to characterize the underlying many-body states. Moreover, they contain valuable information ...

We study the scattering of two-level atoms at narrow laser fields, modeled by a δ-shape intensity profile. The unique properties of these potentials allow us to give simple analytic solutions for one or two field zones. Several applications are studied: a single δ-laser may serve as a detector model for atom detection and arrival-time measurements, either by means of fluorescence or variations ...

Measuring nonequilibrium retarded spin-spin Green’s functions in an ion-trap-based quantum simulator

Recently a variant on Ramsey interferometry for coupled spin-1/2 systems was proposed to directly measure the retarded spin-spin Green’s function. In conventional experimental situations, the spin system is initially in a nonequilibrium state before the Ramsey interferometry is performed, so we examine the nonequilibrium retarded spin-spin Green’s functions within the transverse-field Ising mod...
